It’s the great outdoors for the children of Cylch Meithrin Parc y Bont

Cylch Meithrin Parc Y Bont have invested in purpose built ‘fences’ to provide a safe space for children to explore outdoors independently.

The Cylch Meithrin were one of the successful applicants of the Conwy Valley and North West Wales Coast Community Rail Partnership’s Community Grant Fund. The Fund was set up in September 2022, in partnership with Transport for Wales, to support the resilience and sustainability of community organisations within a five-mile radius of stations along the routes from Llandudno to Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llandudno Junction to Holyhead.

Without a dedicated area for the children to explore and learn outdoors, the Cylch Meithrin was in jeopardy. Until a permanent area can be identified, the Cylch Meithrin applied for funding to create a temporary space with purpose built fencing where staff can create valuable outdoor learning experiences in the open-air.

Suzie, Cylch Meithrin Parc Y Bont said:

“The Rheilffordd funding has allowed our Cylch Meithrin to purchase wooden fencing to create an outdoor education area for the children in our care. The fencing has created the first step in our development of an outdoor area dedicated to creating outdoor learning experiences for our children. Learning outdoors is a key part of early education, we are so grateful to Partneriaeth Rheilffordd Dyffryn Conwy for providing the funds to create this wonderful opportunity for the children in our community.”
