North Llanrwst Station receives a make over by local artist Myfanwy Jones

Myfanwy Jones, affectionately known as Van, was born in Llanrwst and recently returned back to her home town after 40 years living in Runcorn.

Van was approached by Chris and Janet two North Llanrwst Station Adopters during their weekly art class. Van, is a keen painter and artist.  The paintings at the station have been inspired by her love of nature, reading and walking around Llyn Crafnant and Geirionydd.

The waiting shelter has been transformed with paintings featuring a wild flowers scene with daffodils, tulips, fox gloves and poppies surrounded by butterflies, hanging baskets and bumble bees.

The project took two weeks to complete, hand drawn images that were painted over using acrylic paint and finally varnished over to weatherproof.

You can see the paintings on display at the station.
