A celebration of Welsh Language for Ysgol Llanfairpwllgwyngyll | Dathliad o’r Iaith Gymraeg i Ysgol Llanfairpwllgwyngyll

Ysgol Llanfairpwllgwyngyll School Council received £1,000 in funding from the Conwy Valley and North West Wales Coast Community Rail Partnership Community Grant Fund in collaboration with Transport for Wales.

The funding was used to promote Welsh language activities and purchase materials such as Welsh language books to inspire and develop children’s reading and creative writing skills.

The school council published their activities in their recent newsletter:

GIG GWYL DEWI 2023 / ST DAVID’S DAY GIG 2023

O ganlyniad i grant a sicrhawyd gan y Cyngor Ysgol drwy Partneriaeth Rheilffordd Cymunedol Dyffryn Conwy ac Arfordir Gogledd Orllewin Cymru bu’r plant yn ddigon ffodus i gael gig arbennig gan ‘Bwncath’. Diolch yn fawr i’r Siarter Iaith a Mr Edwards am drefnu. Roedd hyn yn ffordd wych i ddathlu ein Cymreictod.

As a result of a grant that was secured by the School Council through the Conwy Valley and North West Wales Coast Community Railway Partnership the children were lucky enough to have a special concert by ‘Bwncath’. Thank you to the Siarter Iaith and Mr Edwards for organising. This was a great way to celebrate our Welsh language.

AMSER DARLLEN

Gan ein bod eisiau hyrwyddo’r Gymraeg, penderfynom wario gweddill yr arian grant rheilffordd ar lyfrau Cymraeg ar gyfer pob dosbarth. Mae rhagor o lyfrau ar y ffordd, ond bydd y rhain yn gwneud ei ffordd i’r dosbarthiadau yn fuan! Rydym yn siŵr y bydd y plant wrth eu boddau yn cael mynd ati i ddysgu a darllen. Diolch unwaith eto i Bartneriaeth Rheilffordd Gymunedol Dyffryn Conwy ac Arfordir Gogledd Orllewin Cymru am ariannu hyn.

As we were very keen to promote the Welsh language, we decided to spend the rest of the railway grant money on Welsh books for all the classrooms. There are more books on the way, and these will be making their way to the classes soon! We are sure that the children will enjoy learning and reading these great new books. Thank you once again to the Conwy Valley and North West Wales Coast Community Rail Partnership for funding this.
