Yn 1277 daeth Edward I \u00e2 gweithwyr o Loegr i adeiladu\u2019r dref a\u2019r castell, gyda\u2019r nod o leoli garsiwn o filwyr yn y castell gan adael i fasnachwyr a chrefftwyr o Loegr fyw yn y dref. Cyhoeddwyd siarter fwrdeistrefol y dref yn 1284. Arhosodd llawer o\u2019r gweithwyr yn yr ardal, er gwaethaf rhywfaint o densiwn rhwng y cymunedau brodorol a\u2019r Saeson. Mae nenfwd Siambr y Maer yn cynnwys 15 tarian, sy\u2019n dangos arbeisiau llwythau brenhinol hynafol Cymru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saif Castell y Fflint mewn man amlwg rhwng y dref ac afon Dyfrdwy; mae\u2019r t\u0175r crwn amddiffynnol \u2018Donjon\u2019 enfawr a\u2019r tri th\u0175r crwn llai yn nodweddion pensaern\u00efol hynod. CADW sy\u2019n gyfrifol am reoli\u2019r castell ac mae mynediad am ddim i\u2019r cyhoedd. Yn yr oesoedd canol, roedd y castell yn un pen i\u2019r dref a\u2019r eglwys yn y pen arall, gyda marchnad, gweithdai a thai yn y canol. Daethpwyd o hyd i sawl darn arian Rhufeinig pan ailadeiladwyd neuadd y dref yn 1840, ac mae olion mwyngloddiau plwm Rhufeinig ym mynydd Helygain i\u2019r de.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ar yr arfordir i gyfeiriad y gorllewin mae Treffynnon, safle Ffynnon Gwenffrewi. Mae pererinion wedi bod yn dod yma ers o leiaf 1115, ac yn \u00f4l y s\u00f4n, dyma\u2019r safle pererindod hynaf ym Mhrydain. Adeiladwyd y capel sy\u2019n dyddio o\u2019r bymthegfed ganrif yn ochr y bryn ac mae d\u0175r y ffynnon yn ffrydio i fyny cyn llifo i mewn i bwll awyr agored. Credir bod priodweddau iachaol yn perthyn i\u2019r dyfroedd hyn.
