Mae gorsaf Llanrwst yn daith gerdded fer i&#8217;r sgw\u00e2r, a hithau yw prif arhosfan y dref, tra bod Gogledd Llanrwst wedi&#8217;i leoli ar ei gyrion, ac mae&#8217;n daith gerdded braf o ryw ddeng munud i ganol y dref.<\/p>\n<p>Wrth galon Dyffryn Conwy, mae Llanrwst yn dref farchnad hanesyddol sy\u2019n swatio\u2019n ddwfn yng nghysgodion mynyddoedd gogoneddus Eryri i\u2019r naill ochr, a chopaon Mynydd Hiraethog i\u2019r llall. Mae iddi awyrgylch braf a hamddenol, sy\u2019n ei wneud yn lle perffaith i dreulio diwrnod allan.<\/p>\n<h3>Cyfleusterau gorsaf Llanrwst:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bwrdd amseroedd Cyrraedd &amp; Gadael;<\/li>\n<li>Ff\u00f4n cyhoeddus (sy\u2019n derbyn cardiau ac arian m\u00e2n);<\/li>\n<li>Mynediad ramp at y tr\u00ean;<\/li>\n<li>Nid yw\u2019n addas i ddefnyddwyr cadair olwynion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Cyfleusterau gorsaf Gogledd Llanrwst:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>MAE HON YN ORSAF AR GAIS<\/li>\n<li>Bwrdd amseroedd Cyrraedd &amp; Gadael;<\/li>\n<li>Mynediad ramp at y tr\u00ean;<\/li>\n<li>Mynediad di-ris i\u2019r orsaf;<\/li>\n<li>Rheseli beiciau.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Gorsafoedd Llanrwst \u2013 yr hanes<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-458 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/www.conwyvalleyrailway.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Conwy-Valley-Railway-224-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Gogledd Llanrwst:<\/em> Fe agorwyd yr orsaf yn swyddogol ym mis Mehefin 1863 fel terfynfa\u2019r Rheilffordd Conwy &amp; Llanrwst. Ym 1867, cymerodd LNWR (<em>London &amp; North Western Railway<\/em>) yr awenau ac fe symudwyd yr orsaf ym 1868. Ymestynnodd LNWR y lein hyd at bentref Betws-y-coed ym 1869.<\/p>\n<p>Newidiwyd yr enw i <em>Llanrwst and Trefriw<\/em> ym 1884, ac ym 1974 dychwelwyd yr enw yn \u00f4l i\u2019r gwreiddiol (Llanrwst), ond bellach yr enw arni yw Gogledd Llanrwst, er mwyn i orsaf newydd gymryd enw\u2019r dref. Mae Trefriw dim ond ychydig o filltiroedd o Lanrwst, ar ochr arall yr Afon Conwy, a gellir ei gyrraedd ar droed dros bont sy\u2019n dyddio o\u2019r bedwaredd ganrif ar bymtheg, y<em> Gower Suspension Bridge<\/em>. Beth am rhoi tro ar y daith gylchol o Lanrwst i Drefriw? <a href=\"http:\/\/www.conwyvalleyrailway.co.uk\/cy\/2018\/02\/20\/llanrwst-to-trefriw\/\">Cewch ragor o fanylion yma<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Llanrwst:<\/em> Mae gan orsaf wreiddiol y dref chwaer fach bellach, sef gorsaf Llanrwst. Agorwyd yr orsaf gan <em>British Rail <\/em>ym 1989, felly mae wir yn orsaf ifanc ar y rheilffordd hanesyddol hon. Mae wedi&#8217;i leoli yn llawer agosach at ganol y dref, a dyma\u2019r brif orsaf i Lanrwst ac y mae pob gwasanaeth yn galw yma. Nid yw trenau bellach yn galw yng Ngogledd Llanrwst (ac eithrio ar gais).<\/p>\n<h2>Hanes y dref<\/h2>\n<p>Mae hanes hynod ddiddorol i dref Llanrwst. Erbyn heddiw, daw prif incwm y dref o dwristiaeth, ond yn wreiddiol fe ddatblygodd fel canolfan amaethyddiaeth. Yn ystod yr Oesoedd Canol, roedd yn ganolbwynt pwysig i\u2019r fasnach wl\u00e2n ac am nifer o flynyddoedd, penodwyd yma bris gwl\u00e2n i Brydain gyfan.<\/p>\n<p>Yn ystod y 13eg ganrif, rhoddodd Edward I o Loegr &#8211; un gwaradwyddedig am ei orchfygiad systematig o Gymru &#8211; hwb anfwriadol i ddatblygiad Llanrwst, trwy wahardd unrhyw Gymro rhag masnachu o fewn deng milltir i Gonwy, un o safleoedd ei gestyll. Tra mai Conwy oedd parth masnachwyr o Loegr yn unig, yn Llanrwst ffynnodd masnach Gymreig.<\/p>\n<p>Yn 1610 adeiladodd Syr John Wynn, tirfeddiannwr lleol, Elusendai Llanrwst. Bwriad Wynn oedd lleddfu dioddefaint y tlodion gwaethaf yn ei blwyf, a bu\u2019r elusendai\u2019n lloches am dros dri chan mlynedd. Caeodd yr elusendai ym 1976, gan ddirywio\u2019n wael, ond fe gawsant eu hadfer ym 1996 gyda chymorth Cronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol. Gallwch ymweld \u00e2\u2019r elusendai heddiw; dilynwch y llwybr cul o sgw\u00e2r y dref i gyfeiriad Eglwys St Grwst.<\/p>\n<h3>Crwydro Llanrwst hanesyddol<\/h3>\n<p>Os oes ychydig oriau yn sb\u00e2r gennych, fyddai dilyn Llwybr Tref Llanrwst yn ffordd wych o ganfod y mannau diddorol sydd gan y dref i\u2019w chynnig . Mae&#8217;r llwybr cerdded byr hwn yn cynnwys rhai o adeiladau hanesyddol pwysicaf y dref.<\/p>\n<p>Cymerwch eich amser, oedwch am banad, a phorwch drwy rhai o\u2019r nifer wych o siopau annibynnol wrth i chi gerdded!<\/p>\n<h4>1. Yr hen <em>King\u2019s Head Hotel<\/em><\/h4>\n<p>Dyddia\u2019r adeilad hwn, a leolir yn Sgw\u00e2r Ancaster, o ddiwedd yr 17eg ganrif. Ganed y gwneuthurwr telynau John Richards yma ym 1711. Roedd ei noddwyr yn cynnwys y Frenhines Charlotte, gwraig Brenin Si\u00f4r III, ac mae&#8217;n debyg mai ef oedd gwneuthurwr y delyn sydd ar ddangos yn amgueddfa\u2019r V&amp;A yn Llundain heddiw. Mae&#8217;n delyn hynod o gywrain ac mae&#8217;n cynnwys y blaenlythrennau \u2018JR\u2019. Ar un adeg roedd y delyn yn y V&amp;A yn eiddo i Augusta Hall, Arglwyddes Llanofer, noddwr pwysig celfyddydau Cymru yn ystod oes Fictoria.<\/p>\n<p>Ym 1891, roedd papur newydd Cymraeg mewn cylchrediad yn yr Unol Daleithiau, ar gyfer Americanwyr Cymreig, o&#8217;r enw <em>Y Drych<\/em>. Mewn un rhifyn o ddechrau&#8217;r 20fed ganrif, nodwyd fod y <em>King&#8217;s Head <\/em>wedi&#8217;i werthu i&#8217;r tenant, Mrs Owen, am y swm sylweddol o \u00a31,625. Dywedodd y papur newydd: \u201cRhaid bod elw i\u2019w gael o werthu diod i ffyliaid.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>2. <em>Regent House<\/em><\/h4>\n<p>Ar gornel gyferbyn yr hen <em>King\u2019s Head<\/em>, mae adeilad sydd bellach yn gartref i <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asha-balti-house.co.uk\/\">D\u0177 Asha Balti House<\/a>, bwyty Indiaidd arobryn. Ar un adeg, roedd yn siop ddillad o&#8217;r enw <em>Regent House<\/em>, ac yn nodedig am fod yr adeilad talaf yn Llanrwst. Roedd hyd y oed yn ddigon tal i&#8217;r frig\u00e2d d\u00e2n lleol ei ddefnyddio i ymarfer eu driliau dianc yn yr 1900au!<\/p>\n<p>William John Williams oedd perchennog y ddilladfa yn <em>Regent House<\/em>. Roedd yn swyddog cyhoeddus uchel ei barch, yn dal swyddi fel ynad, cynghorydd Rhyddfrydol a chadeirydd y cyngor. Roedd ei fusnes yn cyflenwi crysau, cotiau a festiau i&#8217;r wyrcws lleol.<\/p>\n<p>Priododd un o blant William, Richard, \u00e2 merch o\u2019r enw Jennie ym 1906. Ar \u00f4l seremoni yn Llanrwst, gadawodd y p\u00e2r am America. Dechreuodd Richard (a elwir yn lleol fel \u2018Dick Regent\u2019) swydd reoli mewn siop adrannol yn Los Angeles, gan ysgrifennu sgriptiau sinema yn ei amser rhydd. Derbyniwyd un o&#8217;i sgriptiau, <em>Charlie Chaplin Enlists<\/em>, gan Chaplin ei hun!<\/p>\n<h4>3. Eglwys St Grwst<\/h4>\n<p>Saif yr eglwys hon ar yr un safle \u00e2&#8217;r eglwys wreiddiol a adeiladwyd yn y 1470au. Penderfynwyd lleoliad ar gyfer yr eglwys mor bell yn \u00f4l \u00e2 1170, pan roddodd Rhun ap Nefydd Hardd dir ar gyfer eglwys newydd a gysegrwyd i Grwst y Cyffeswr. Aeth yr eglwys ymlaen i fwynhau cefnogaeth a nawdd digynsail am ganrifoedd lawer.<\/p>\n<p>Roedd Nefydd Hardd, tad Rhun (ac un o sefydlwyr y pymtheg llwyth bonheddig yng ngogledd Cymru), yn gyfrifol am farwolaeth y Tywysog Idwal o Wynedd. Roedd y tywysog wedi derbyn gwahoddiad i hela gyda Rhun pan ymosodwyd arno, ac fe&#8217;i boddwyd gan herwyr a oedd yng nghyflog Nefydd. Roedd gymaint o gywilydd gan Rhun am weithredoedd ei dad nes iddo dalu penyd trwy sefydlu\u2019r eglwys yn Llanrwst.<\/p>\n<p>Roedd tad Idwal, y brenin Owain Gwynedd, mor ofidus, fe orchmynnodd y byddai safle marwolaeth ei fab yn dwyn enw Idwal am byth, ac erbyn heddiw mae ymwelwyr yn eu miloedd yn heidio i gerdded a mwynhau&#8217;r golygfeydd o amgylch Llyn Idwal.
