To see this kaleidoscope of colour at its best, take a trip on the Conwy Valley Line this\u00a0Winter. \u00a0You\u2019ll be dazzled at every stage of the journey but keep your eyes peeled for these, our most favourite,\u00a0winter views from the train.<\/p>\n

Conwy Castle <\/strong><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start at the very beginning! As the train moves from Llandudno to Llandudno Junction via Deganwy, look out of the right hand side of the train (if sitting forward) and take in the legendary view of Conwy Castle rising majestically above the walled town. Surrounded by rolling hills and\u00a0autumnal woodland the castle is framed in fiery colour, all reflected off the waters of the Conwy Estuary.<\/p>\n

Betws-y-Coed<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Enjoy the journey and drink in the winter panoramas of the Conwy Valley for a while as the next unmissable view will be on the approach to Betws-y-Coed. Beautiful Betws is a village custom-made for winter \u2013 steep mountains rise all around, clad in a mix of deep green pine forest and the red hot shades of deciduous woodland.<\/p>\n

If arriving at the picture-book station of Betws-y-Coed in\u00a0winter doesn\u2019t put you in the mood for log fires and mugs of steaming hot chocolate, nothing will!<\/p>\n

Lledr Valley <\/strong><\/p>\n

Leaving behind the alpine splendour of the Conwy Valley the train enters the Lledr Valley, the final stretch of your journey and a wonderful mixture of moorland, mountain and forest landscapes. Passing through Dolwyddelan station, look right out of the train window (again, sitting facing forward) and drink in the view of the stately mountain, Moel Siabod and the russet tones of the moorland tumbling down towards Dolwyddelan Castle.<\/p>\n

Blaenau Ffestiniog <\/strong><\/p>\n

A complete contrast awaits you as you near the end of the line. Emerge from the 2 mile long tunnel through Moel Dyrnogydd into the immense, brooding slate quarries of Blaenau Ffestiniog. You have left behind the idyllic rural vistas of the valleys and have entered an industrial landscape \u2013 all sharp lines, jagged edges and monochromes. It\u2019s stark but it\u2019s not without beauty!<\/p>\n
